Edinburgh property renovation FAQs
Do you take on whole property renovations or single jobs?
Both. We renovate whole flats and houses, and we also take on single rooms and individual trades such as tiling, plumbing or decorating. Larger projects are where an all trades team saves you the most time, because one programme covers every stage.
Can you work on tenement flats?
Yes. Much of our work is in Edinburgh tenements. We plan deliveries and waste removal around the common stair, protect shared areas, arrange parking where needed, and keep neighbours informed when work could affect them, such as water shut offs.
Do I need a building warrant for my renovation?
It depends on the work. Removing structural walls, altering drainage or converting a loft usually needs a building warrant from the City of Edinburgh Council before work starts, while many like for like jobs, such as replacing a kitchen or bathroom without structural change, do not. If your property is listed or in a conservation area, changes to windows, doors and the exterior may also need planning permission or listed building consent. We tell you at the survey what applies to your job.
How do your quotes work?
We visit to survey the property and talk through what you want, then send a written, itemised quote showing the work, the trades involved and the expected programme. Quotes are free and there is no obligation.
Do you remove waste and clean up?
Yes. We remove waste as the job goes on, protect floors and furnishings while we work, and leave the property clean at the end.
