Decoration is the part of a renovation everyone sees, and it depends on preparation. We fill, sand and prime properly, protect floors and furniture, and use quality paints so the finish lasts.
We decorate newly renovated rooms as the final stage of a project, and take on painting and wallpapering on its own for homes that need refreshing.

Decorating older Edinburgh homes
High ceilings, ornate cornices and original woodwork are a pleasure to decorate but take time to do well. We cut in carefully around cornicing, prepare old painted woodwork properly, and recommend breathable paints for lime plaster and traditional surfaces where they are needed.
Painter and Decorator FAQs
How long should new plaster dry before painting?
New plaster should be fully dry before it is decorated, which can take from several days to a few weeks. The first coat should be a mist coat that lets the plaster breathe.
Do you supply the paint?
We can supply paint, or use your chosen brand and colours. We advise on quantities and the right finish for each surface.
Can you paint the outside of a tenement?
External painting on a tenement usually involves the common parts, so it needs the agreement of the owners and often the factor. We can quote once that is in place.
