A good bathroom depends on the work you cannot see. Pipework, waste runs, waterproofing, ventilation and safe electrics all need to be right before the tiles go on. We plan each bathroom renovation in full and carry out every stage ourselves, so nothing is left between trades.
We renovate family bathrooms, en suites, shower rooms and cloakrooms, and can convert a bath to a walk in shower or a level access wet room. If you only need bathroom fitting for a suite you have already chosen, we handle that too, with the plumbing, tiling and electrics done by the same team.
What is included
- Strip out of the existing suite, tiles and flooring
- New pipework, waste runs and valves
- Tanking and waterproofing in wet areas
- Walk in showers, wet rooms and baths
- Lighting, heated towel rails and extractor fans
- Wall and floor tiling
- Vanity units, storage and mirrors
- Plastering, sealing and decorating
How the work runs
- Survey. We look at the room, the floor construction and the drainage route, and talk through how you want to use the space.
- Design and quote. We help you settle the layout and fittings and provide an itemised quote with a programme.
- First fix. Pipework, waste and wiring are installed, then walls and floor are prepared and waterproofed.
- Second fix and finish. Tiling, sanitaryware, brassware and lighting go in, followed by sealing, testing and a final clean.
Bathrooms in Edinburgh flats and period homes
Bathrooms in tenement flats are often small, with old lead or iron pipework, timber floors and limited room for drainage falls. We check what is under the floor before planning a walk in shower, use waterproofing systems suited to timber floors, and make sure extractor fans vent properly. If your flat shares drainage with neighbours, we plan any work on the shared stack with them and, where needed, your factor.
Bathroom Renovations FAQs
How long does a bathroom renovation take?
A typical bathroom renovation takes between one and three weeks, depending on the size of the room and whether the layout is changing. Your quote sets out the expected programme.
Can you turn my bath into a walk in shower?
Usually, yes. We check the floor construction and drainage route first, as a shower tray or wet room floor needs enough fall for water to drain away properly.
Do you supply the bathroom suite?
We can supply everything, or fit a suite and tiles you have chosen yourself. Either way we check sizes and compatibility before work starts.
