Kitchen Renovations in Edinburgh

Complete kitchen renovations across Edinburgh, managed by one team covering plumbing, electrics, plastering, tiling, flooring and fitting.

A kitchen renovation involves more trades than almost any other room. Old units come out, pipework and wiring often need moving, walls need making good, and then the new kitchen, worktops, tiles and flooring go in. We plan the whole job and carry it out with our own all trades team, so you deal with one contact from the first survey to the final clean.

We work on every type of Edinburgh home, from galley kitchens in tenement flats to open plan spaces in Victorian villas and modern family houses. Whether you need a complete renovation or straightforward kitchen fitting of units you have already chosen, the same team carries out the work.

What is included

  • Design advice and layout planning around your room
  • Strip out and removal of the old kitchen
  • Plumbing alterations for sinks, dishwashers and appliances
  • Electrical work for sockets, lighting and cooker circuits
  • Plastering and making good walls and ceilings
  • Fitting units, worktops and appliances
  • Tiled splashbacks and new flooring
  • Decorating to finish the room

How the work runs

  1. Survey and measure. We visit, measure the room and talk through how you use it, your budget and the finish you want.
  2. Written quote and plan. You receive an itemised quote and a schedule showing which trades are needed and in what order.
  3. Strip out and first fix. The old kitchen comes out, then pipework and wiring are moved into position before walls are made good.
  4. Fit and finish. Units, worktops and appliances go in, followed by tiling, flooring and decoration, then a final clean.

Kitchens in Edinburgh tenements and period homes

Many Edinburgh kitchens sit in tenement flats or older houses with uneven walls, lath and plaster ceilings and limited access up a common stair. We plan deliveries and waste removal around shared stairs and controlled parking zones, protect common areas, and allow for the extra work that older walls and floors can need. If you are thinking of removing a wall to open up a kitchen, we check whether it is structural and whether a building warrant is required before any work starts.

Kitchen Renovations FAQs

How long does a kitchen renovation take?

Most kitchen renovations take between two and four weeks on site, depending on the size of the room, how much plumbing and electrical work is needed, and lead times for units and worktops. Your quote includes an expected programme.

Can I supply my own kitchen units?

Yes. We can fit a kitchen you have bought yourself, or work with your chosen supplier. We check the delivery before fitting begins so any damage or missing parts are picked up early.

Will I be without a kitchen the whole time?

There will be a period without a working kitchen. We keep it as short as we can by preparing as much as possible before the old units come out, and we can often set up a temporary sink or cooking area.
